The importance of asking questions

The importance of asking questions

No matter how intelligent you might be in one area, when you start to learn a new skill it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and a little slow. You might find yourself in situations where you have no idea which way to go and making decisions without knowing all the facts or the possible consequences.

If that ever happens to you, please do one thing: ask for help.

The old standby joke for comedians is talking about how men hate to ask for directions when driving. There may be some truth to that, but I think that men and women alike are often too embarrassed to ask for help when taking on new tasks – and sometimes they pay dearly for it.

It is so important to ask questions and to learn from the experience (and mistakes) of others.

I have set up forums, I conduct Q&A calls each month, and I have coaching problems for just that reason. I had to go out and learn by trial and error, and I don’t want you or anybody else to have to do the same.

And if you are in a business other than real estate, find someone who has some credibility and who has achieved what you want to, and then pick their brain as often as you can!
